英国议会代表访问石室中学

2016年6月2日，由克莱门特•琼斯为团长的英国议会代表团和剑桥国际考试委员会CEO Sullivan先生一行9人访问石室中学，受到了成都市教育局副局长王志成、对外交流合作处副处长徐海、石室中学校长田间、校长助理方青、国际部主任倪蓉、以及剑桥国际课程中心学术校长Andrew Derham的热情接待。狄邦教育作为石室中学国际课程的合作伙伴，董事长黄缨子、副总裁杨飞也到场欢迎。

在学校会客室，成都市教育局局长王志成首先向来访外宾介绍了成都市教育基本情况。随后，田间校长详细介绍了石室的办学历史、国际办学、对外交流等情况。议员团克莱门特-琼斯阁下作为议员代表发言，他对石室的历史与办学表示钦佩，对石室剑桥国际课程的办学成果表示了高度的赞扬。克莱门特阁下希望石室剑桥A-Level课程越来越好。代表团与学校领导互动提问，交换对增进教育国际交流和国际办学的意见，并互赠纪念品。

随后，代表团前往石室中学剑桥国际课程中心。由10名学生组成的接待团陪同外宾参观了中心设施，并进行了书法、中国结、剪纸、国画等才艺展示。期间代表团与剑桥课程中心的各年级的学生、教师等就剑桥国际课程教学的感受、体会，以及学生赴英国高等学府升学、就业、中英教师交流等问题进行互动交流。

在接下来进行的采访中，克莱门特·琼斯议员（Clement Jones）、安吉拉·史密斯议员（Angela Smith）和剑桥考试委员会CEO沙利文先生（Mr. Sullivan）高度评价了剑桥国际课程的学生，认为他们综合素质非常优秀，能深切感受到孩子们的活力和对学习的热情。琼斯议员表示，访问石室中学是希望看到英国的教育模式甚至西方的英语教育模式以及剑桥大学考试委员会的国际课程怎么在中国运作并与中国教育进行契合，同时也希望了解在哪些方面能帮助中国的学生到西方的大学去学习。成都家教

石室剑桥国际高中是成都最早成立的A-Level课程中心，在被问及剑桥大学考试委员会为何在多年前就选择石室中学合作办学，沙利文先生说，“剑桥大学历史很久，但是在成都哪里能找到比剑桥大学历史更悠久的学校，那就是石室中学。但是比起古老历史，更重要的是教育质量，而石室中学无疑也是教学质量一流的学校。”石室剑桥国际高中近年来的办学成果瞩目，沙利文先生表示那不是剑桥大学考试委员会和石室中学的成功，而是学生们的成功。目前为止，石室剑桥国际高中的所有学生都100%进入了世界一流大学深造。沙利文先生说他很高兴看到近年来选择国际课程的中国学生和家长的变化，他们选读国际课程不再只是为了进入世界名牌大学，也是希望孩子受到真正的更全面的国际教育。

最后，代表团与所有接待人员合影留念，并祝愿同学们早日实现大学梦。

On June 2^nd, 2016, eight UK parliament members (LordClement-Jones as delegation leader) and CEO of Cambridge InternationalExaminations Mr. Sullivan visited Shishi and were warmly welcomed by ViceDirector of Chengdu Bureau of Education Mr. Wang Zhicheng, Principal of ShishiMr. Tian Jian, Assistant Principal of Shishi Ms. Fang Qing, Director of theInternational Department Ms. Ni Rong, and Academic Principal of ShishiCambridge A-level Center Mr. Andrew Derham. As partner of Shishi CambridgeA-level center, Dipont also joined the welcoming ceremony, with chairman of theboard Ms. Huang Yingzi and vice president Mr. Yang Fei being present.

At the reception room, Mr. Wang Zhicheng introduced Chengdueducation to the foreign guests. Then, Mr. Tian Jian made a detailedpresentation of Shishi history, international education and internationalexchange programs. As delegation leader, Lord Clement-Jones expressed hisadmiration of the profound history of Shishi and the outstanding achievementsof Cambridge international course. He hoped that A-level center would go from strengthto strength. The delegates and Shishi leaders then exchanged ideas on promotinginternational exchanges and presented gifts to each other.

Next, the delegation visited Shishi Cambridge A-level Center, wherethey were introduced to ten students. They watched student performances ofChinese calligraphy and Chinese knots making. The MPs exchanged ideas withA-level center students and teachers on matters like learning and teachingexperiences, applying for British universities, finding jobs, and teachers’exchange programs.

In the interview afterwards, Mr. Clement Jones, Ms. Angela Smith,and Mr. Sullivan highly praised the students from A-level center. They weredeeply impressed by their vigor, passion for study, and outstandingcomprehensive qualities. Mr. Jones said that the reason why they chose to visitShishi High School is that they would like to see how British education model,Cambridge international course and Chinese model can integrate. They would alsolike to help Chinese students prepare for future study in western universities.

Shishi Cambridge International High School is the first A-levelcenter in Chengdu. When asked about why CIE chose to cooperate with Shishi, Mr.Sullivan said: “Cambridge University has a profound history. If you want tofind a school that is even older than Cambridge, it has to be Shishi. However,compared with history, education quality is no doubt more important. And ShishiHigh School is renowned for its teaching excellence.” Shishi CambridgeInternational High School is well known for its outstanding achievements inrecent years. Mr. Sullivan said that this huge success belongs to the students,but not to CIE or Shishi. So far, all graduates from A-level center have beenadmitted by first class universities in the world. Mr. Sullivan was happy tosee the change of attitude of Chinese students and parents who choseinternational courses: the purpose is not just to get admitted by world famousuniversities, but to receive more comprehensive international education.

In the end, the delegation took grand photos with students, foreignteachers and leaders from A-level center, and wished all the students good luckin realizing their college dreams.
